Social Development Forum:

Social Development Forum (SDF) is a Palestinian non-governmental organization established in 2006, led by a group of active young Palestinians, with the aim of building a professional civil model capable of delivering development services by leveraging the best digital and non-digital technologies, tools and resources. SDF pursues its development vision through an integrated participatory approach grounded in respect for human rights, the rule of law and civic values. We believe that youth are the most effective force for leading sustainable development processes.

As part of the implementation of the project “Enhancing the agency of Palestinian youth in dialogue on a just and negotiated two-state solution,” in partnership with CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation, SDF announces its need to recruit a Project Engagement Assistant in the Gaza Strip, to lead the day-to-day content, community engagement and operational management of the project’s online hub, ensuring it is active, safe, inclusive and regularly updated.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the online hub and serve as its principal focal point for participants, project staff and technical service providers.
  • Develop and implement a practical engagement plan and content calendar aligned with the project workplan.
  • Mobilize participants to join, contribute to discussions, and sustain engagement between in-person and online activities.
  • Initiate and facilitate online discussions, polls, prompts and learning activities that encourage constructive participation.
  • Welcome and orient new users, and respond promptly to user questions and basic access issues.
  • Monitor participation levels, identify inactive or underrepresented groups, and undertake targeted follow-up to support inclusive engagement.
  • Moderate user-generated content in accordance with community guidelines, safeguarding standards and conflict-sensitive practice, and promptly escalate sensitive incidents.
  • Coordinate with the platform developer or technical support provider to report and follow up on bugs, usability and accessibility issues.
  • Lead the hub’s content feed, ensuring a steady supply of timely, credible and balanced Arabic and English content.
  • Publish content including short articles, summaries, discussion prompts, explainers, learning materials and event notices.
  • Translate or coordinate the translation and linguistic review of content between Arabic and English.
  • Develop and maintain a clear taxonomy, tagging system and editorial workflow for the public resource library.
  • Identify, review and regularly update reliable resources related to the two-state solution and connected political and legal themes.
  • Track agreed performance indicators (registrations, active users, participation quality, resource use) and prepare concise monthly engagement reports.
  • Collect participant feedback and document outcomes and lessons learned for project reporting.
  • Support the planning and delivery of online and in-person project activities, including scheduling, invitations and attendance follow-up.
  • Maintain participant databases, contact lists, calendars and project documentation in an accurate and organized manner.
  • Support routine correspondence with participants, partners and service providers in Arabic and English.
  • Assist with administrative processes such as collecting quotations, preparing payment or procurement documentation, and maintaining complete records.
  • Undertake other reasonable project-related administrative and logistical duties assigned by the Project Coordinator.
